Out of the 4 short stories my favorite was "Open Window" by Saki. At first i was confused about it. I actually read it two times because i didnt understand what was the point of the story. Then i got it, Vera was a little liar. She made Mr. Nuttel's anxiety worse than it already was. My favorite part of the story was when Vera told the story of why the window was always open. It had an eerie feeling and it gave me goosebumps. All along Mrs. Sappleton wasnt crazy and her husband was just gone for a day. This is why i like the story "Open Window."

In my perspective, I really enjoyed the book, Sound of Thunder. It was better than the other three stories because it involved time travel; and as a geek this really touched me. I especially liked how in the story they explained the dangers of time travel and the consequences of when you mess with time. You see most people believe that time travel is a simple thing and everything will be fine with whatever you do in the past or in the future but that's not it at all, you can easily create a paradox when you're time traveling and Eckells (the main character in the story)learned that the hard way. He underestimated the power of time travel and without thinking he stepped off the path and accidentally stepped on a butterfly; and with that one dead little butterfly he disrupted the future. -C.R Period 6

The story that interested me the best so far is pancakes. When I read the title I thought it was going to be about pancakes but instead it was talking about the main character who is not perfect at everything. My favorite part from the story is towards at the end the narrator was about to give up because of how many customers there are to order which stresses her out. Then the narrator's friend came in and helped her out to finish the job faster and with no worries. That is why pancakes is the best story so far out of the 4 stories we read this week.

My favorite story is Pancakes because its message and lesson teaches that perfection is never the answer. I believe this is true, no one is the world is perfect. Being perfect is never the answer and Jill learned it the hard way. Pancakes is a amazing story I love it because it does have to do with pancakes and they are my favorite food for breakfast. This story is quite interesting and I love that in the end being perfect is wrong and that things don't go the way its planned at times. I recommend this book for all pancake lovers and for those perfectionist. Being perfect is never the answer so why try to be one?

My favorite story of the week was Silent Thunder. For me it was an interesting concept of how things in the passed could change the future dramatically. Even if it was dead blue butterfly. The story showed lots of action, was not boring, and the way the author integrated foreshadowing made the whole story suspenseful and kept me on my toes wondering what was going to happen next.

My favorite story was pancakes out of all the stories I read so far. I really enjoyed this selection because it shows that everyone isn't a perfectionist. The main character Jill is a major perfectionist that tries to run the pancake shop all on her own but soon realizes she couldn't handle it and takes the help of her ex boyfriend and his parents. I am slightly a perfectionist. For example, me and my sister cleans the house, she gets the bathroom and hallway and I get the kitchen and living room. Sometimes she decides to clean the whole house and when I wake up I feel like everything is out of place, she doesn't clean the way I'm used to. Everything has to be perfect. Sometimes me being a perfectionist can cause some issues for me like between my friends and I. At the end Jill learns that she isn't a perfectionist and should try to take help whenever its offered and I need to learn to try not to be as much as a perfectionist as I am used to :/ !!

My favorite story is Pancakes because Jill learns a lesson a the end of the story. She learns that nobody is perfect when she accepts help from her ex boyfriend. Jill thought that she could do it all but she couldn't. She declines the help from Allen the first time but accepts the help the next time

My favorite story was Pancakes by Joan Bauer. I liked this story because it's about a girl who thinks she is perfect, even though she is not. This story teaches a moral which says " that no one is perfect in life and that we all have many flaws but even if we do not know."

My favorite story was pancakes because it was about being a perfectionist. In the story jill thinks that she can handle the pancake shop all on her own but she learned that she couldn't and it was okay because its not possble to be perfect and jill learned that at the end.

Discussion Question Response
Ones personality can be inferenced through the way they carry themselves. Whether it be hygiene, economic status, or to being a perfectionist’s I have noticed previously that the way I wake up in the morning and if my routine is not perfect it will carry on through the remainder of the day.Causing me take my stress out on others.Others have responded to the blog writing that they like the read {pancakes} because it has nothing to do with pancakes but about a perfectionist.Perfectionist can be noticed by the way they act, stress levels, and simply by they talk hopefully using this you can pick out perfectionist. Dissimilary I like pancakes because I can simply relate to it nobody is perfect and takes a matter of time for you to find out. “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous to be absolutely boring”. -Marilyn Monroe

Well, i enjoined all the stories but my favorite one was pancakes. I liked the fact that it shows that nobody can do everything on there own. There will be that day where you notice you are not perfect... matter a fact nobodies perfect. Jill thought she could handle everything on her own and take everyone's order without a problem thinking she is "a perfectionist" and turns out she isn't and learns that every human being makes mistakes.

my favorite book was book number 3 Open Window by Saki. this was really interesting and it had a nice twist to it in the end. Vera didn't want Framton staying in her aunts house so she wanted to get rid of him. in the end she did get rid of him but she did it in a cruel yet hilarious way. telling him a story about her aunts husband and two brothers never coming back from hunting 3-4yrs ago and that her aunt believes they'll come in from the window at any time freaked him out. so when he did see them come in from the window Framton thought he saw a ghost and just had to leave. that was my favorite part because its funny. this is why i loved this story and now i know what to do to get rid of uninvited guest. =)
